This training course has been created to introduce you to Andi, a new technology that can transform how we provide care. Many of our service users face challenges with independence and safety, and Andi offers a powerful solution to enhance their quality of life.
By completing this course, you'll learn how this innovative technology can help us provide personalised, proactive, and preventative care.
Our goal is to give you the knowledge and confidence to use Andi as a valuable tool in supporting the vulnerable people we serve.

The TEC world uses lots of jargon, here are some terms that you may be unfamiliar with:

TEC (Technology Enabled Care)
Technology Enabled Care (TEC), is the use of technology to provide health and care services to people in their own homes, or near to home, helping people to live independently and safely

ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre)
ARC is a monitoring centre that receives alarm signals and alerts from telecare systems, dispatching appropriate assistance when needed.

SCAIP (Social Care Alarm Internet Protocol)
A digital reporting standard used by telecare devices to connect with alarm receiving centres (ARCs) over the internet.

SIM (Subscriber Identity Module)
A circuit chip in a plastic card that enables cellular devices to connect and operate on mobile networks.

Ethernet
Ethernet is a way of connecting computers together in a local area network or LAN

PIR
A passive infrared sensor (PIR sensor) is an electronic sensor that measures infrared (IR) light radiating from objects in its field of view. They are most often used in PIR-based motion detectors.
